Meet the Maker Dinner with Marc Rafael

We are pleased to announce our second Meet The Maker Dinner in partnership with J’s Bottle Shop. Alejandro Ortiz is bringing his old friend Marc Rafael to Athens so we can taste his wines, pick his brain, and make merry with him. You might find it strange that a California wine producer is called Rafael et Fils, but the name homages his parents who raised him in France and then came to the States, buying land in Napa Valley in the 1970’s. The vineyards and winery as they exist today were started in 1996, and Rafael focuses on truly evoking place through his wines. He prides himself in making single vineyard, single varietal wines, and it shows in your ability to read the story of the vintage year on your tongue as the flavors swirl around your mouth.
